Black Oak Casino Honored at West Coast Blues Hall of Fame Awards
Casino receives Blues Corporate Sponsor of the Year Award for its continued support of the blues
Black Oak Casino has received a prestigious award at the West Coast Blues Hall of Fame & Awards Show 2009, where legends such as Stevie Ray Vaughn, Steve Miller, Larry Graham, and others were inducted. The casino was selected as the Blues Corporate Sponsor of the Year and was presented with the award on March 29th at the awards show in Oakland.
The annual awards show honors musicians and others for their contributions to the art form of Blues. It is organized by the Bay Area Blues Society, a non-profit organization dedicated to the preserving and perpetuating Blues, Jazz, and Gospel as indigenous American art forms.
Black Oak Casino has been a strong supporter of the Blues over the years, including sponsoring the Hayward Russell City Blues Festival, West Coast Blues Hall of Fame, and the Sonora Blues Festival. In addition, the casino regularly schedules performances by Blues artists in its entertainment venue, the Willow Creek Lounge.
